Local food critics have called Mr. John's Steak & Seafood House one of the best kept secrets in the City of New Orleans. Named one of Saints quarterback Drew Brees' favorite restaurants: "'Great ambiance, great setting, great wine list, phenomenal steaks, and the freshest seafood,' says Brees. 'When you walk in, you get the feeling of an old-school, 1940s Italian joint. There's old mosaic tile floors and pictures on the wall with all the famous people that have come in.' After Brees finishes the turtle soup, cowboy steak, and shrimp remoulade, he plays the part of spectator at dessert.
