Sabine National Wildlife Refuge
As the largest coastal marsh refuge on the Gulf of Mexico, Sabine National Wildlife Refuge promises adventure. Estuarine-dependent marine species as well as alligators, reptiles and water birds fill the area with picture-perfect natural scenery. As you paddle, take time to crab or fish from one of the many accessible piers.
When you’re bound for land, consider a wildlife-observation hike through the Wetland Walkway or Blue Goose Trail. Later, camp out at White Oak Park, located on the Calcasieu River. You can enjoy more freshwater fishing before sleeping underneath a canopy of green.
