This 620-acre park presents striking scenery marked by piney woods, rolling hills and the cool, clear waters of Lake Claiborne. Enjoy serene canoeing or kayaking – bring your own or rent one on the premises. You'll even find primitive canoe campsites in this park. Other campers can hook up at one of dozens of campsites equipped with water and electricity, picnic tables and barbeque grills. A boathouse with restrooms and a fishing pier complete the waterfront facilities. One of the most popular activities is swimming at the park's sandy beach, situated on an inlet of the lake. Ecologists and sportsmen alike hail the lake's excellent water quality here. Lake Claiborne State Park is located at 225 State Park Road, Homer. From I-20 at Minden take Highway 79 north, then head east on Highway 518; turn east onto Highway 146; the park is less than mile down Highway 146. From I-20 at Ruston, take Highway 146 north.
