Lake Bruin State Park
Lake Bruin State Park’s water trail leads paddlers right to its iconic, breathtaking cypress trees. After launching, paddle south, following the shoreline until you’re under a gorgeous, mossy canopy of sprawling cypress limbs. Lake Bruin offers more than 5 square miles of water and shorelines to explore.
Three large fishing piers, a year-round boat launch and boat rentals make this state park the perfect place for the traveling anglers. Largemouth bass are popular year-round, but spring and fall months make for the best fishing. A water playground offers a great way for families to cool off in the hot summer months, followed by a barbecue at the picnic area. On your way home, drive the Cane River National Heritage Trail Scenic Byway.
