Pioneer Heritage Center

Location

1 University Pl.
Shreveport, LA 71115

Who were the pioneers that settled the northwest corner of Louisiana? Where did they come from? How did they live? How did they adapt to the untamed frontier? These questions and more can be answered with a visit to the Pioneer Heritage Center.

The Center was established in 1977 as a joint project of LSU Shreveport and the Junior League of Shreveport. The buildings, exhibits and trained staff guide visitors through the structures that give insight into the diverse cultural history, the natural environment, and the daily lives of the settlers who lived in the region from the 1830s to the 1930s.
