LARC's Acadian Village
Location
LARC’s Acadian Village was established to preserve an important piece of early Acadian heritage. Nestled on 32 acres, the Village features seven authentic 19th-century homes, donated by the families of the original occupants. These historic homes are remarkable testaments to the craftsmanship and ingenuity of early Acadian builders, showcasing features such as hand-hewn cypress timbers, wooden pegs, mud walls, and high-peaked roofs. Each structure was carefully dismantled, relocated, and restored to preserve its authenticity and historical value.
LARC owns and operates LARC’s Acadian Village, and all revenue generated through tourism, venue rentals, and fundraising events directly supports LARC’s mission: to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving self-sufficiency, quality of life, and self-worth.
