Showing the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans, Treme follows the story of rebuilding of homes, lives, and the city’s unique culture. From the title song by local musician John Boutte to imagery of second line parades, Mardi Gras Indians, music, and food, the series is both a love letter to and an honest and gritty portrayal of New Orleans.

With the neighborhood right next door to the French Quarter, there’s plenty of recognizable scenery in every episode. But you can venture out further, for bowling and bar food at Rock ‘N’ Bowl on Carrolton, live jazz at Vaughan’s Lounge, or for dining in the historic setting of Dooky Chase’s Restaurant. And then circle back for some beignets and coffee at Café Du Monde.
