Louisiana Cattle Festival

The Louisiana Cattle Festival is a free, family-friendly celebration held annually in Abbeville that brings the community together for three days of entertainment, food, and fun. Visitors can enjoy live music, browse arts and crafts vendors, and sample delicious food from local vendors featuring regional cuisine.

The festival features exciting activities for all ages, including contests in ice cream eating, rib eating, and whip cracking. A highlight of the event is the Grand Parade complete with the ceremonial Chocolate Milk tradition. The free Kids Area offers games and entertainment designed especially for younger visitors.

Festival weekend concludes Sunday with a spectacular Cattle Demonstration and cattle drive down Concord Street, ending with the unique Blessing of the Bovine ceremony.
