Grand Isle State Park offers two miles of beaches, a public fishing pier and postcard-perfect views. Walk the trails of this Louisiana barrier island, which is a haven for birdwatchers. Saltwater fishing outfitters will take you out for a day of unforgettable casting in the abundant waters that surround the town. A decidedly different cultural attraction also awaits visitors in nearby Chauvin. Named simply the Chauvin Sculpture Garden, this assemblage of religious art, crafted in concrete, is a monumental folk art masterpiece that has been attracting visitors for decades.

Getting There

It's easy to navigate Grand Isle — especially since the city is just over an hour and a half from New Orleans. If you're flying into town, rent a car, hail a taxi or book a rideshare from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.
