Just across Lake Pontchartrain from New Orleans, Louisiana’s Northshore is home to charming small towns, scenic trails and laid-back local culture. In Abita Springs and Lacombe, visit the quirky Abita Mystery House, tour the Abita Brewing Company, or explore local history at the Abita Trailhead Museum and Bayou Lacombe Museum. Nearby Covington offers art galleries, restaurants and stops like the Covington Trailhead Museum, Tammany Trace and the lively Covington Beer Garden.

Farther north, rural communities like Bush and Folsom provide a quieter glimpse of the Northshore’s countryside and outdoor spaces.
