Visit Baton Rouge
Welcome to Baton Rouge — or as we also like to call ourselves, the Red Stick. Here in Sportsman’s Paradise, we’re also proud to call ourselves Louisiana’s State Capital. While we’re well known in the sports arena for our two universities, Louisiana State University and Southern University, both are well-respected schools in the SEC and SWAC. Whether a Tiger or Jag fan, there’s always a season at play and enough reason to take in a game, match or tournament.
To say the Red Stick gets serious about sports is an understatement. Proof of that came in 2020 when we were awarded the SportsETA’s 2019 Sport Tourism Organization of the Year, Population Over 500,000.
Looking to play? Baton Rouge has numerous venues that can accommodate a variety of sports, from baseball and soccer to waterskiing and golf. Aside from its professional venues, the city offers several recreational options through various parks, including skating, biking, boating and kayaking.
As your partners, Visit Baton Rouge is proud work alongside you – from helping to secure and service large-scale sporting events to connecting you with our area hospitality industry partners that can produce a successful and safe event. We’re also here to offer site visits, free event marketing, local attendance building, local media connecting, signage and more.
Here are a few groups that have recently called on Baton Rouge to host their events:
• The Louisiana Marathon
