Located on several small bluffs that extend into the Toledo Bend Reservoir, South Toledo Bend Reservoir State Park offers scenic waterfront views from every angle. While the reservoir is nationally recognized as a destination for bass-fishing tournaments, visitors can also enjoy other outdoor recreational activities such as hiking, cycling, birding, camping and wildlife spotting. The area is also a common nesting ground for the bald eagle, which feeds from the plentiful freshwater fish — including largemouth bass, catfish, bream and white perch.

Curious paddlers dream of this park’s topography. Several paths and inlets surround the reservoir, where you can paddle amidst old-growth cypress without seeing another soul. The tranquil waters and scenic views make the park a perfect location for new paddlers or those seeking a leisurely pace.
