Historic Village of Grand Cane

Grand Cane has become the art and live theater center of Desoto Parish. In September 2009, Grand Cane was designated a cultural district in the State of Louisiana. The Desoto Arts Council established the Desoto Arts Gallery in the Hicks-Richardson Co. Building which showcases original works of art for viewing and with many available for purchase. The Back Alley Theatre is also located in the Cultural District and is a popular destination for patrons of each of the many seasonal productions. Village restaurants accommodate production events by pairing dinner with the shows while the nearby Cook-Hill Bed & Breakfast is available for weary travelers that want to stay awhile.

The Village of Grand Cane is dedicated to keeping the presence of "Yesteryear" as a constant reminder of the importance of preserving the past for future generations.
