Celebration 40 Years in 2025

The Boggy Bayou Festival is a celebration of faith, family, and community, founded with the mission to honor our heritage while supporting the ongoing needs of Prairie Manor Nursing Home. Established over forty years ago through prayer, dedicated volunteers, and a shared vision, the festival has become a beloved tradition for Pine Prairie and surrounding communities.

Named after the bayou on the west side of Pine Prairie, “Boggy Bayou” symbolizes our deep connection to both past and future. The festival began in 1984 and 1985 on the land where Prairie Manor now stands. Proceeds from those first events helped establish the nursing home in 1986—a privately owned, not-for-profit facility that remains one of the few of its kind in Louisiana. Since then, all festival proceeds have directly supported the home and its residents, providing equipment, comforts, and improvements that enhance their quality of life.

More than just a fundraiser, the Boggy Bayou Festival is an opportunity for the entire community to come together in celebration. With live music, carnival rides, games, food, and family-friendly entertainment, the festival provides joy and lasting memories for all ages. We also promote health, wellness, and education through community partnerships and activities that encourage better living and informed choices.

Despite facing major challenges—including hurricanes, winter storms, and the COVID-19 pandemic—the Boggy Bayou Festival has endured and thrived thanks to the resilience and generosity of our supporters. Through it all, our mission has remained the same: to enrich lives, preserve community spirit, and provide lasting support to “The Home That Prayer Built.”

The Boggy Bayou Festival continues to grow and evolve, but our purpose remains rooted in faith, service, and celebration. We are proud to offer an event that uplifts our community while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
