Headquartered in Historic Downtown Houma on Main Street, Bayou Terrebonne Distillers is family-owned and Louisiana’s southernmost distillery. We strive for authenticity, making “True to the Boot” craft spirits, grain to bottle, the hard way. Born on the bayou, our Certified Louisiana spirits are mashed with grains from the great state of Louisiana and twice distilled with locally built copper pot stills. We are proud to produce the only whiskies in the state made with Certified Louisiana corn. BTD spirits are proudly carried throughout Louisiana, from Shreveport to Grand Isle in some of the finest restaurants, bars and grocery stores.

Bayou Terrebonne Distillers is a marsh roots company founded on the belief that honest joy is distilled from hard work and earned victories, both big and small. Our purpose is to preserve an illicit family tradition as well as the unique beauty and culture of the Bayou Region. The BTD story begins on the bank of Bayou Terrebonne during Prohibition. Our great grandmother Lillie, our town's first Mardi Gras queen and a moonshiner, lit a fire under a small copper pot still, igniting a family tradition. The legend goes that the Revenuers turned a blind eye to Lillie's operation because her moonshine was “too damn good.” Nearly a century later, her defiant spirit lives on in our spirits, which are distilled on the very same bayou.

There's always something shaking at Bayou Terrebonne Distillers! On a normal weekend, you can enjoy a tour, tasting, cocktail and the live music of a Fais Do-Do. We host regular comedy shows, small business pop-up collaborations and non-profit revitalization festivals. Our rustic distillery is often utilized for private events such as weddings, baby showers, reunions, corporate parties and more!
