Main Street Columbia
With a population of 300, Columbia is Louisiana’s smallest Main Street community. Visitors come here for the small-town feel, historic downtown and outdoor recreation. Main Street dead-ends at the scenic Ouachita River — where you can now launch your kayak! Bring your bike to ride the “Jim’s Pass” bike path through downtown and the historic Columbia Hill Cemetery.
Columbia is known for the Schepis Museum, featuring local art, and the Watermark, the oldest saloon on the Ouachita River. Upstairs at the Watermark, you’ll find a short-term vacation rental with great river views.
If you’re hungry, dine at local favorites: More to Life Nutrition, El Patio Bar & Grill and Kaleidoscope Cafe, a mission-driven lunch spot staffed by neurodivergent individuals through a partnership with the local school district.
The long-running Louisiana Art and Folk Festival is held in October every year.
