The Guardian
Want to train like the Coast Guard cadets in the Kevin Costner vehicle, The Guardian? Grab your best running shoes and get out to Lake Bistineau State Park. Ten miles of woodland trails and an 11-mile canoe trail provide plenty of opportunity for a good workout. Not quite so active? Take a nice stroll along the trails, or bring your boat for a day of fishing on the lake. The park also offers a fishing pier, so you don’t necessarily need to be on the water to catch bass, bluegill, catfish or red ear sunfish that call these waters home. Overnight guests can rest easy in one of Lake Bistineau State Park’s seven deluxe cabins, the deluxe lodge or bring their own accommodations with them, as the park has RV spots with water and electrical hookups.
