The Independence Bowl is one of the nation’s longest-running college football bowl games, played each December at Independence Stadium in Shreveport, Louisiana. Established in 1976 to commemorate the United States Bicentennial, the game traditionally features teams from the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).
