Annual Here's the Beef Cook-off

Calling all carnivores! This long-running annual event is sponsored by the St. Landry Parish Cattleman's Association, Cattlewomen and LA Beef Industry Council. The cook-off features some of the best food from the area's greatest cooks, weekend chefs and aspiring culinary artists. Last year, almost 1,000 people enjoyed dishes such as brisket, tongue and delightful desserts. Live entertainment and an old-fashion trail ride round out the day's events. So bring the whole family. The Here's the Beef Cook-off is held the first Sunday in March every year. $5 admission charged.The trail ride begins at 8:30AM, and the cattle dog exhibition at 12PM.
