Lake Arthur

The town of Lake Arthur sits on a body of water of the same name. It's located in Jefferson Davis Parish, conveniently situated just off of I-10.

Lake Arthur was named for one of the area's earliest settlers, Arthur LeBlanc, who made his home on the banks of what was then called La Petite Lac Mermentau. It was formally incorporated as a city in 1903.

Lake Arthur Park is the centerpiece of the city. There, visitors can sunbathe, swim and relax on the beach. The park also has a boardwalk, playground and grills. Next to Lake Arthur Park is one of southwest Louisiana's most celebrated seafood restaurants, Regatta LA Seafood and Steakhouse. Dine on Louisiana classic dishes such as crawfish étouffée, fried shrimp or po'boys on the Lake Arthur waterfront — ideally at sunset — and listen to live bands while boats go drifting by.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find no shortage of reasons to visit Lake Arthur. Fishing outfitters can get you deep into the bayou for a true backcountry adventure, while those seeking a milder outdoors experience can check out the Flyway Byway. This 55-mile driving trail takes visitors through wilderness areas that sit within the Mississippi Flyway, one of the primary migratory routes for birds in North America.
