Tangipahoa Parish is vying to be the hub of Louisiana’s brew scene, with several breweries operating in and around Hammond. Low Road Brewing is one of the reasons that this rural part of south Louisiana has become a hub for craft beer lovers.
It's a small but impressive brewery with a three-barrel system. The in-house bar, featuring 30 taps, is hooked up to a combination of Low Road beers and those of other craft breweries. In addition to Low Road's staple brews like the Lemon-Blueberry ale, Smooth Operator Peanut Butter Porter, Unscrupulous NEIPA and Rebellious Redhead Irish Red, the brewery offers special release brews like its Watermelon Gose and Irish Coffee Stout. Low Road beer can only be purchased at the brewery, but you can purchase a 32-ounce growler to take some home with you.
